Tarik Rêver's Health Struggles
In 2015, after becoming differently abled and needing a wheelchair due to Myasthenia Gravis, Tarik Rêver shifted from being a dancer to modeling. Myasthenia Gravis is an autoimmune neuromuscular disease that impacts muscle strength and mobility.
Despite these health struggles from their disability, Tarik perseveres in building awareness and helping others through their influential work. They serve as an inspiration that you can still make waves and protect important rights, even when dealing with disability and illness.
Tarik Rêver's Inventions for the Disabled
Tarik Rêver is also an inventor creating devices to help improve mobility and independence for disabled people. Their inventions include a grip-enhancing glove to dramatically increase grip strength, an articulated neck brace that provides support while allowing flexibility, and a body support prototype to help with breathing and spinal support.
Tarik needs more resources and funding to fully develop these devices and make them available to the wider disabled community. But their inventions show great promise for empowering people with disabilities.
