News Briefs May 7, 2023

What do the royal couple, kissing boys and drag queen bashing have in common? They’re all a part of this week’s News Briefs.

It was coronation fever this week as the new King and Queen of England received their crowns.

Many of the out of town guests were staying at The Royal Crescent. The Royal Crescent is a tourist destination in Bath, known for its perfect lawn that dates back to the 18th century and was featured in Bridgerton.

One can imagine the surprise when the guests woke up on Thursday morning to see a 30 foot penis mowed into the pristine lawn.

The site was scheduled to host a Georgian-themed “grand coronation party” on Saturday, in honour of the King’s coronation. There is no, I repeat no, truth to the rumor that Prince Andrew

was responsible for the prank so that he wouldn’t be the biggest prick associated with this special occasion.

The coronation wasn’t the only big news from across the pond.  BBC Three revealed the contestants competing on the UK’s first-ever gay dating series, I Kissed a Boy.   Here’s a trailer for the show:

As you can see, the show will explore whether these contestants' introductory kisses could lead to love – and according to the BBC, it's "packed with explosive drama, gripping cliffhangers and powerful untold stories".

Oh yeah, there will be drama, you can count on it.

In a previous episode of Amber Live we told you about Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley.

Yeoman 2nd Class Joshua Kelley.

Kelley, who is non-binary, was based on the USS Ronald Reagan in Japan. They performed as Harpy Daniels during events organized by the Navy’s Morale, Welfare and Recreation Department.

Last November, Kelley announced they’d been recruited as a “Digital Ambassador” by the Navy to help boost recruitment. Presumably, Navy superiors felt Kelley promotes the fact LGBTQ people are very welcome in today’s armed forces.

You can imagine how that hit the right-wing haters.

Candice Owens

Candace Owens, one of the rights’ hatingest haters recently said, “You know what my first reaction was? I could probably beat that guy up. I just — I feel like I could beat that guy up. I feel like if you had to put money on a fight between me and that guy that you just saw, you probably would put your money on me.”

I’m not a violent person, but I’d love to see that fight.  And I know where my money would be.

And that’s this week’s news briefs.
